A sunset is a sunrise on the other side of the world!

Getting up at 4:30am on a Saturday (prior to children) to see the sunrise was Ed's genius idea...it took me a while to feel his excitement, but how could you not fall in love with this sight? Ed, you win...great idea!

I haven't posted in a while because I was (and still am) waiting for some more specifics from our agency. The short version is that they are expecting infant referrals to start coming in 3-4 weeks. We're thrilled but guarded. We feel little E is out there, but we don't want to get our hopes up too high for fear things won't pan out again. I'll update when I know more!

Have a super weekend!

Have Crib - Need Baby

We finally did it...we put up the crib! Since we didn't actually need the crib, I loaned it to the children's store selling our bedding, but I decided it was time to put it up. Ed and I picked it up yesterday and now I can finally see the beautiful crib bedding my mom made on it everyday! The last time I had a picture of it, it was just to take pics for our bedding website, now it's for real! I don't have anything else in the room done which is why there are no more pics, but that will be coming this summer. I need something to do to keep my mind busy!

Wait... I said need baby, not dog!

Um, how do I get out of here?

Angie, our company is called "generations in style", here is the link to the website. Thanks for asking!

Snipets of a weekend...

On Friday PM we headed up north to my dad and step mom's cottage-turned summer home. It's on a beautiful and rather small lake. We heard bird chirping out our window and there was not a cloud in the sky...perfection! Not only did I get a heck of a sunburn...ouch, but we also reeled in a few fish! Then on Sunday, we were off to see my brother and his wonderful family for an afternoon of playing with the girls (Ed was rocking them both on the hammock-below) and picking strawberries and peas!

When I got home I found that there was a bit of an uproar on our agency's yahoo group board, but we'll deal with that later. I'm still basking in the glow of my relaxing weekend...or maybe it's the sunburn I'm feeling! Either way, it's good!

No News...just another song

I've got nothin'. We've had some ups and downs with the agency this week, and we're still waiting for some more information. One of our staff members is still in VN and we think he's still working on completing the paperwork for the baby's dossiers... I'm trying to stay positive, but honestly, I'm kinda to the point of believing it when I see it.

Here is another one of my "waiting for you" songs...enjoy!

Happy Father's Day!

We had a fun day barbecuing and playing games with Ed's family for Father's Day. Happy Father's Day (almost grandpa) Bill!

We will see my dad and stepmom next weekend for a relaxing few days at their cottage up north. Happy Father's Day Dad!

My mom bought Ed a sweet Father's Day gift - books to read to Ella! They are in Vietnamese and English. I am really excited about exposing her to both languages. I'm guessing he'll stick to English, but we'll have fun "trying" to pronounce the Vietnamese. Thanks mom!

Happy Father's Day Eddie...our little one is out there somewhere and ready to be in her daddy's arms!

zzzzzz....good night

Our 6 month remodel is coming to a close...ahhhhh (big sigh)!
(sorry, I don't know whey the pics are arranged like this)

Demo and rebuild!

TA DA! (Ok, so maybe the wrinkled sheets aren't too impressive, but we're not quite done. Plus we're getting a new bedroom set and then it will be perfect...oh, and when we hang things on the walls, but that will have to wait until Vietnam...we're planning on framing large photos of our trip above the bed etc.)

Before I head off to bed. A quick request...my grandma had a bad fall yesterday and she suffered a vertabrae fracture. We spent several hours in the ER yesterday and while she's still in the hospital, we think she'll make a successful recovery, but any prayers would be appreciated! Thank you!

p.s. - no adoption news

3 Months

Saturday marked three months since DTV (our Dossier to Vietnam). Hoping we see her little face soon! I feel pretty good today...hopefully that means news is coming (or maybe it's because I only have three days left with students! Sorry parents, but us teachers...we're pretty excited for our summers)!

Congratulations are in order

Congrats to Tamara and her family who just received their referral for baby Paige this week! Little Paige is just over two months! I've been closely following Tamara's blog and couldn't be happier for her and her family!

Also, Crystal and Frank from OUR agency FINALLY got their travel dates today! They leave next week already! We're crossing our fingers that travel dates come for the rest of the waiting families! YAY!

Congrats to you all...Happy Friday!

Nothing but another song

No major news. We got a little bit of an update that said the staff member currently in VN is setting up a new office in our newest province (it's a requirement to have an actual agency office in each province they are licensed in, I think). He is also working on the paperwork for referrals. We are *assuming* that means one will be ours, but they couldn't give us any specifics or time lines...so we wait.

Since I have nothing exciting to talk about, I thought I would shower you all with another song on my "waiting for you list". Enjoy! If you have any other "waiting for you songs" that you like, let me know. I think I'll do a weekly song to pass the time!

Shoes...where to buy (update)

A few of you seem interested in the shoes. The brand is "bical". They have a website, but I know my friend got them off a different shoe site so you can probably google them :)

E's new kicks

Thank you to our great friends Steve and Lisa who just knew these would look amazing on little Ella's feet! Aren't they great? The tops are like socks but the bottoms and toes have a soft but durable rubber- good for walking! I can't wait to put them on her...our girl is going to have some very sylish feet. Thanks for finding them Lisa!

I emailed our agency regarding the staff member currently in VN visiting our agency's newest orphanage. I got this email back:

His trip is going good. He is making a lot of progress. He is there until the end of June, so a lot of things will be done before he returns. More news to come.

hmmmm, we'll see what that means.......
