Passport

Hope you all had a great Christmas! Ours was nice...we even got a few things for baby Ella!

We got Ed's passport today!!!! It only took 10 days. I sent mine separately so I think it should be arriving any day as well! It looks like our dossier may be done before we thought!

Happy New Year!

One More Update Before Christmas...

We received the official copy of our homestudy yesterday. Our social worker sent us a copy in addition to sending copies to the US Immigration office and the State of WI. Once Immigration processes the forms, they will be contacting us to come in for fingerprinting. We're moving along nicely!

We wish you all a wonderful and blessed Christmas and New Year!

Paperwork-update

We've had some success getting our paperwork squared away. We are just waiting for letters (from employers, doctors etc.) to come back in. We also finished our passport applications this week and they should be arriving within about 14 days! Once we have everything collected, we will be ready to officially submit the dossier! It will need to be authenticated with the state and embassy and then translated. Once that's all done, it's off to Vietnam and we will be on the waiting list! Pray that it's a smooth and quick process!

Hope all is well with everyone.

Merry Christmas!

Love,
Jenna and Ed

We're Starting Our Dossier!

We had another meeting last night. We discussed our dossier and we were walked through the paperwork that we will be compiling for this phase. We realized that we should have gotten our passports a while ago because we need them for this paperwork, which means we will be going to Chicago to get them expedited...bummer. Other than that it's just more copies of birth certificates, marriage certificate, medical forms, etc...and a lot of notary stamps!

Oh well, otherwise, she told us that she talked with her "contact person" in Vietnam this week and all is going well down there and the time line is looking good. She thinks that we should be traveling by July!! We are at about the same point in the process as another couple from our agency that is going there, so she is hoping we will get to travel together - which would be nice! And even if we don't travel together, it will be nice to have someone in the area with a baby from Vietnam.

That's about all for now...We'll be busy working on paperwork for the next few weeks. We'll update if we get any news.

Happy Holidays to All!

Love,
Jenna and Ed

The Next Phase

It looks like all of the paperwork we've been waiting for has been completed and either sent or is ready to be picked up...and we should have it all by tomorrow (Friday). Then our homestudy will officially be complete!!

I called the agency today, we have our next meeting on Monday 12.11.06. We will be discussing the next steps and how to complete our dossier. Jill, one of the directors of the agency, told me that the dossier consists of lots of documents, some of which, are the same as what was needed to complete our homestudy. She said that the Vietnam program is running smoothly and once our documents are authenticated and translated, we will have about a 3-4 month wait before we hear anything.

I'll update if I find out anything on Monday!

Thanks again for all of your love and support! It means a lot to us!
